Lent is the penitential season of the Church year. It begins this week on
Ash Wednesday, March 5th, and ends with the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday.
Lent has six Sundays. The sixth is called Passion or Palm Sunday
and marks the beginning of Holy Week.
ASH WEDNESDAY & GOOD FRIDAY: These are days of fast
& abstinence from meat. There is a limit of one full meal on these
days for those between the ages of 18 & 59.
DAYS OF ABSTINENCE: All Fridays in Lent…All those who
have reached their 14th birthday should abstain totally from meat.
ASH Wednesday, 2014: Ashes will be distributed at the following services:
Mass 9:00 AM
Prayer Service 3:30 PM
Mass 5:30 PM
